BOCM PAULS makes Mill Acquisition

In a move that underpins its commitment to the intensive sectors in the North East and a rapidly growing export piglet starter feeds business BOCM PAULS has today announced the acquisition of the Feed Division of Cranswick Mill Limited.

Based in North Yorkshire, Cranswick Mill manufactures significant volumes of Pig and Poultry feeds for UK and export markets.

"The acquisition is a strategic move and represents further evidence of BOCM PAULS' long term commitment to grow our core intensive feeds business in the livestock heartlands of the UK and in key overseas markets" said Mr Bill Mayne, Chief Executive of BOCM PAULS.

The business will operate as Cranswick Mill, a division of BOCM PAULS, and the full range of Cranswick diets will continue to be available to Cranswick customers.

"I am delighted to be able to conclude this important acquisition and that David Ball, Managing Director of Cranswick Mill Limited, and all his team in Driffield will be joining us" says Bill Mayne.  "The acquisition strengthens our position in the intensive feed sector and confirms our long term intention to continue our historical manufacturing presence in the North East", he added.

The livestock marketing operation is not involved in this deal and will remain with Cranswick plc.
